One drawback of Wacom tablet pens is that the rubber grip deteriorates over time, becoming slick and sticky with age. Replacing the worn rubber grip with a wooden one keeps the surface from slipping even when your hands sweat, maintaining a firm, confident feel during long work sessions. The wood grain gives the grip a visually substantial presence, yet it is actually about 40% lighter than the rubber grip — reducing strain on your fingers and hand.
Wood species: Purpleheart (Peltogyne spp.) Unusually among trees, Purpleheart is a member of the Leguminosae family with a naturally purple-toned wood. It contains the same polyphenol pigments found in wine, and its color transforms beautifully over time: blue-violet → purple → red-violet → brick red → brown. Its grain transmits force straight along the wood fiber, concentrating pen pressure at the nib — resulting in a grip with an energetic, flowing feel that lets the pen move with momentum. The barrel shape can be customized beyond the standard profile to include wide-diameter, triangular, and hexagonal options, so you can choose the one that best suits your grip style.
